The renowned magazine "Global Finance" has named UniCredit for the 7th year as "Best Trade Finance Provider” in CEE, as well as in several countries.
UniCredit was also named # 1 in:

  • Best Trade Finance Provider in Austria
  • Best Trade Finance Provider in Italy
  • Best Trade Finance Provider in Bulgaria
  • Best Trade Finance Provider in Czech Republic
  • Best Trade Finance Provider in Ukraine

Decisive for winning these awards were, among other things, market share and global coverage, product innovation, customer service, competitive pricing, innovative technologies, executions skills and client-specific implementations.

“An excellent trade finance bank is an essential partner for corporations as they expand their global reach,” says Joseph D. Giarraputo, publisher and editorial director of Global Finance. “It takes a strong international network, investment in technology, and specialized talent to deliver the trade services and financial solutions that corporations need to succeed in today’s increasingly competitive environment.”

“This award underlines again our strength as Trade Provider  and proves our ability to offer innovative solutions to our clients thanks to our leading position in CEE. We are very happy that our strategic decision to focus on the financial needs of all the participants involved in the physical supply chain has been so well accepted by the market. Having won this award already for several consecutive years gives a concrete proof of our competence.” says Markus Wohlgeschaffen, Head of Global Trade Finance & Services, who has recently been nominated Vice-Chair of the Global Trade Industry Council (GTIC) against strong competition from other banks.

The GTIC  focuses on standardized product definitions, consistent, complete and transparent data, and standardized documentation supporting trade finance, to work more collaboratively towards a common goal on behalf of the global trade industry in a way that leverages organizational strengths and minimizes overlaps. It  is a leadership council within  the BAFT-IFSA, the leading international transaction banking association, providing advocacy, thought leadership, education and training, and a global forum for its members in the areas of trade finance, payments, compliance, and regulations. It was formed by the merger of the Bankers' Association for Finance and Trade (BAFT) and the International Financial Services Association (IFSA). As  a committed participant in the group this  nomination is a reflection of Markus Wohlgeschaffen’s recognition and dedication to  contribute to the industry.
